Mission Statement:

Project Academy will foster a working environment (Culture ) that treats individuals as partners. It will establish a community of people who will work together for the common good of the team.  Classroom atmosphere will balances trust, risk-taking, originality and respect. It will be an innovation-friendly environment that embraces fast-cycle sharing, supports risk taking, and celebrates learning from failure... establishing a protective environment.

The teacher will act as the facilitator but allowing the students to develop their own learning using questions and feedback to create life-long learning. The approach of continuous improvement will be practiced through out the program.

Partnership:   We would like to partner with similar organizations that have similar missions but would like to share our curriculum and methods.

Facilitation skills Emphasis on building learning skills by facilitating meta-cognitive questions during the process

Role of the facilitator: The definition of facilitate is "to make easy" or "ease a process." What a facilitator does is plan, guide, provide feedback and manage a group event to ensure that the group's objectives are met effectively, with clear thinking, good participation and full buy-in from everyone who is involved.

Ask“What do you think?” And then wait. After an answer is given ask, “What else?” And then wait. Repeat five to seven more times.

Starting a Program

Bring inspired learning to your school with an After-School Project Based Learning activity

Students need a fun environment that teaches life skills while solving real world problems

Our school year and summer programs offer Project-Based Learning and Service Learning activities to immerse students in hands-on learning experiences that develop both their academic and social-emotional skills.

Why choose Project Academy as your partner?

·         Customized: Our After-School programs are not off-the-shelf, pre-packaged programs. We customize each program to the needs of your specific school and community. We'll conduct needs assessment with teachers, school personnel, and parents to craft a program that really suits your school and meets your goals.

·         Experienced: As a partner, we bring to the table deep experience in creating and managing high quality school programs for all age ranges, and for students across the learning continuum -  We have trained many schools in doing Engineering Lens programs and will do the same for Project Academy.

·         An active partnership: Typically, Project Academy will partner with your school to identify and train a program coordinator from your own staff, so that the program is truly integrated with your school's culture and curriculum.
