-        Overall, a lot of this looks really good.  There’s a lot of content here that I think is spot on with what we’re trying to do with our students: reinforcing values, approaching problems with a set strategy and process, building teamwork.

 

The following are the Benefits for these courses:

 Students will learn the benefits of learning as a team and developing their life-skills

The student will have the benefit of choosing their own problem to create and present a solution.

It engages the students in the process.

Students will be treated as adults by developing an assessment plan, team guidelines and action guidelines.

It is empowering for students to have a voice in what they are creating and in how they show what they know.

When we teach through interdisciplinary units, it is much easier for students to make connections and bring their thinking to a higher level.

Holistic approach to learning; (Before, During, After).

 

Teacher acts as facilitator using questions to have students learn their skills and become life-long learners. 

 

It's designed as an interdisciplinary learning which combines different content and processes.

 

Students are engaged and have ownership by picking a community/education/world project to solve.

 

Courses re-enforce each other (i.e. decision making is learned and used in many of the courses).
